2nd Story Stage at the Caroline County Public Library in Denton
The presenting venue for the Second Story Live acoustic music series is the Caroline County Public Library in Denton, Maryland. Shows are staged in the second floor meeting room once a month on Saturday at 7:30pm in the months of September, October, November, January, February, March and April.
The Address is 100 Market Street. At the corner of Market and First Street. The main entrance (on Market St) is closed on Saturday nights. All entry for performers and audience is through the rear parking lot door off Franklin Street.
No smoking and wheel chair accessible.
The Library building has an elevator that makes loading equipment very easy.
The room has a maximum of 100 seats, an arched presidium stage with sturdy, movable risers for the performers. A pleated black backdrop behind the stage absorbs sound and provides a professional visual appearance. Access to the stage area is from the rear and performers do not need to walk through the house area to reach the stage.
The room is fully carpeted and there are acoustic tiles on the ceiling making for an excellent acoustic environment.
We have a professional lighting system with dimmers and a complete professional sound system.
THE SECOND STORY SOUND SYSTEM:
-- 1 Mackie 1604 VLZ Pro 16 channel mixer (full stereo front of house and 2 monitor mixes)
-- 4 Mackie SRM450 Powered speakers (two for front of house, two for monitor)
-- 2 Ultimate heavy duty speaker stands (front of house)
-- 1 100ft 16/4 microphone snake (mixer is placed in the rear of the house area)
-- 4 Shure SM58 vocal microphones
-- 4 Shure SM57 instrument microphones
-- 1 AKG-9000 vocal microphone
-- 6 boom microphone stands
-- 4 passive direct boxes (Proco & Rapco)
-- 1 Lexicon MPX 110 digital effects unit (reverb)
-- 1 DBX 231, 31 band dual channel graphic equalizer (monitor)
In addition a fully trained sound technician is provided. Performers should bring their own ¼ inch guitar cables. Performer provided electronics are easily integrated into the system.
A performer area with table and chairs and away from the public is provided for meals (features a kitchenette) and tuning and a private bathroom is also provided.
A staff person is available to sell performers product. Performer takes 100% of sales.
