| M. Joyce Zeigler likes to paint waterfowl and land birds, flower gardens, country scenes and other views of nature as observed all her life on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Her farm background gives a deep and abiding love of all things of the earth -farm buildings and animals, flowers, a freshly plowed field, the scurry of clouds across the sky -all of these things enter into her paintings. She paints on location as often as possible. Mrs. Zeigler has studied with various artists at the Art Museum Academy in Easton, Maryland, Robert Abbett and Clyde Aspevig at Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona. She has taken oil painting workshops with instructors of Plein Air Painters of America, is a member of the TRAVELING BRUSHES, & Working Artists Forum. Joyce teaches oil painting in her country studio near Ridgely, Maryland. She enjoys traveling with her easel and brushes and has painted glaciers in Alaska, scenes of Prince Edward Island, Florida marshes, and the Arizona desert. Her award winning paintings can be found in private collections throughout the UniteCl States and Europe. In addition, Zeigler's work is represented in Thistles Gallery in Lewes, Delaware; Hardcastle Gallery in Newark Delaware & Centreville, Delaware; Blackhawk Gallery in Saratoga, WY, LuEv Gallery in Easton, Maryland and Dunning Studio, Ridgely Maryland. |
